Story Houses and Found Objects

With Anna Walker and Zana Fraillion No Vacancy Gallery - 6-12 June 2022

Found Stories brings together the beautifully crafted story houses of Anna Walker with Zana Fraillon’s museum of found objects to explore themes of community, sustainability and hope through storytelling and art.

Story Houses

“In 2020, when we were at home adjusting to lock downs and life with a pandemic, I began making tiny scenes using felt, recycled cardboard and paint. I made creatures that brought me joy, and placed them in settings that reminded me of stories from my childhood. It was a place in which I could escape the news of the day and lose myself in a world of the imagination. I created one scene each month and placed them in a tiny wooden house in our front garden. Sometimes I would hear children discovering the house among the leaves, exclaiming with delight. And that made me smile too.” - Anna Walker
